SSPs goal is to promote sports among PWDs through WSL to ensure participation of PWDs in all circles of life, give them a sense of liberation .
Wheelchair Super League
The inception of Wheelchair Super League was the result of SSPs participation at the Abbottabad Sports Festival in 2006. Participants from SSP were representing Multan for the first time and this inspired SSP for organizing a sports festival of the kind in Multan. This endeavor required thorough planning and flawless execution. SSP took the time and made connections with regions participating in special sports to ensure future collaborations.
SSP Multan hosted the National Cricket Wheelchair Championship in 2013 with the participation of 6 regions of Pakistan. The fame of this event echoed far and wide and initiated a tradition of special cricket tournaments in Multan. The guidelines for these tournaments were set according to the rules of ICC (International Cricket Council) requiring all players to dress in complete sportswear with protection.
2018 was the year when SSP organized the first Wheelchair Super League(WSL) in Pakistan with successful partnership with Inzamam-ul-Haq Academy, District Sports Department, Customized Wheelchair Unit Pakistan and Divisional Scouts Headquarter, Multan Crescent Lions Club (MCLC), Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Multan Deaf Organization.14 teams from across the country participated in WSL. Towards the end of the tournament, cash prizes, trophies and medals were distributed among all participating teams.
SSPs goal is to promote sports among PWDs through WSL to ensure participation of PWDs in all circles of life, give them a sense of liberation and inculcate the belief that PWDs can conquer so much regardless of the obstacles.
